Our award-winning kitchen is seeking a talented Commis Chef to join our friendly brigade. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for preparing and presenting dishes to the highest standards. You will work closely with our section head to ensure efficient and smooth service, while maintaining good working relationships with colleagues and other departments. To succeed in this role, you will need a good understanding of basic techniques, a desire to further develop your skills, and the ability to multitask and maintain quality levels at all times.   • Prepare and present dishes to the highest standards.
  • Work closely with section head to ensure efficient and smooth service.
  • Maintain good working relationships with colleagues and other departments.
  • Complete any reasonable task as requested by management.
  • Prepare kitchen mis-en-place for designated section before and during service.
  • Keep waste to an absolute minimum.
  • Personal appearance and hygiene should comply with hotel policy, uniforms must be treated with the utmost care.
Key Skills:
  • NVQ Level 2 in Professional Cookery or equivalent.
  • Minimum 1 year experience and exposure to a variety of menu styles – 2 Rosette experience is preferred, but not essential.
  • Able to multitask and maintain quality levels at all times.
  • Work well as a part of a busy, close knit kitchen brigade.
  • Possess a 'can do' attitude, being able to work on your own initiative as required.
