We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Construction Project Leader to join our dynamic team at Sizewell.

About the Role:

  • This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and results-driven individual to lead the operational delivery of projects, managing all site resources (plant and labour).
  • The successful candidate will create a high-performing team by maintaining a positive and productive working culture.
  • This role involves mentoring and coaching subordinates, identifying training requirements, and providing feedback to line managers.
  • You will ensure that all site activities are carried out in a safe manner with minimal risk to human health.
  • Promote environmental sustainability and ensure compliance with environmental legislation.
  • Manage the efficient and effective deployment of all resources on the project to ensure efficient and effective delivery.
  • Contribute to the development of the budget with the project manager, site manager, and quantity surveyor.
  • Understand the contract program, critical path operations, and critical deliveries.
  • Plan works ahead and have contingency plans in place for non-delivery of materials or bad weather.
  • Ensure the highest standards of quality control and security are maintained on site.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Works Manager or in a similar role within the construction industry.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Professional certification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) is a plus.
