Senior Learning Support Practitioner

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Senior Learning Support Practitioner to join our ALS team at Coventry College. As a key member of our Learner Services team, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring high-quality support for EHCP learners throughout their learner journey.
Your primary responsibility will be to act as a mentor for the wider team of Learning Support Practitioners, sharing best practices and completing observations. You will work closely with the ALS Co-ordinators to develop and review support plans for learners that are aspirational and personalised.
In addition, you will support the running of high needs interventions such as the Preparation for Adulthood and Social Skills programmes. To be successful in this role, you will need to be an enthusiastic individual with excellent communication skills and relevant experience within this field.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and review support plans for EHCP learners
- Act as a mentor for the wider team of Learning Support Practitioners
- Support the running of high needs interventions
- Work closely with ALS Co-ordinators to ensure high-quality support for EHCP learners
Requirements:
- Minimum Level 2 qualification in literacy and numeracy, or equivalent
- Relevant Level 3 qualification or above
- Experience of working with people with learning difficulties and/or disabilities, or other support needs
- The successful applicant will be required to complete an enhanced DBS check
