About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Solutions Architect to join our team at QBE Management Services (UK) Limited. As a Data Solutions Architect, you will play a pivotal role in designing and implementing data solutions that support our business functions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the business domain stakeholders, product owners, and architecture team to develop data solutions that meet project needs.
  • Provide support to the Lead Architect on strategic data thinking for data projects.
  • Participate in debates and steer discussions on data architecture best suited for a data-driven enterprise.
  • Ensure the inventory of all data artefacts for the project are maintained for use by various business domains.
  • Knowledge of data management strategies to support governance, classification, and security processes.
  • Experience of approaches for information lifecycle management.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in data analytics and data architecture/design, with excellent knowledge of various styles of data architecture, and experience with implementing at least two.
  • Knowledge of technology to support events and materialized views, as well as emerging data technologies, such as predictive analytics, data visualization, and NoSQL databases.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Azure platform and components, Databricks, Synapse for data storage and processing, and experience with Master and reference data management.
  • Experience with transformation projects and out-of-the-box thinking as well as working with third parties will be an advantage.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills and ability to communicate complex problems and solutions to senior leadership.

Desirable Skills

  • Ideally Data certificates, i.e. Data Management Association's (DAMA) Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP) designation or something equivalent, but a solid background will be considered if no certifications, and preferable knowledge of Insurance, or Finance sector.
