About the Role

The Supported Lodgings Coordinator role is a dynamic and challenging position that requires a high level of expertise and dedication.

As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for ensuring the effective delivery of the Supported Lodgings service, working closely with young people, hosts, and other stakeholders to provide a safe and supportive environment.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assessing the needs and risk of young people referred to the service, developing and implementing individualized support plans to ensure their safety and well-being.
  • Recruiting, training, and managing hosts, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to provide high-quality support to young people.
  • Coordinating the placement of young people with hosts, ensuring a smooth transition and ongoing support.
  • Working with young people, hosts, and other agencies to prepare them for independent living and access longer-term, appropriate accommodation.
  • Providing regular checks on host accommodation and assisting them to make necessary changes.
  • Proactively working in partnership with multiple agencies to support the well-being and ongoing housing needs of young people.

You will be part of a team responsible for a 24-hour on-call service, working closely with the Deputy Supported Lodgings Manager and the Greater Manchester Prevention Team to ensure the smooth operation of the service.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the needs of young people experiencing homelessness, as well as experience in supporting individuals with complex needs. They will be able to demonstrate clear understanding of safeguarding requirements and procedures, and have a high level of collaborative working skills.
