We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Breast Radiology Consultant to join our team at Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for analyzing images to help diagnose, monitor, and treat various conditions, diseases, and injuries.

Working alongside a friendly and dedicated team of healthcare professionals, you will be using some of the most advanced imaging technology in the country, pioneering the use of CT, MRI, PET, and fusion imaging.

Your clinical knowledge and experience will be essential in performing your duties, while your excellent verbal communication skills will enable you to engage with patients and collaborate with colleagues and other clinicians.

Main duties and responsibilities include:

  • Using images to diagnose, treat, and manage a variety of medical conditions and diseases
  • Offering specialist expertise and guidance to other doctors, clinicians, and staff
  • Liaising with medical and non-medical staff to ensure quality treatment
  • Electing appropriate radiology techniques for patient diagnosis and undertaking minimally invasive techniques to guide and direct a variety of interventional treatments
  • Actively supporting patients and their families, communicating clinical information to explain findings using a variety of methods to ensure practical understanding
  • Communicating with patients on shared patient decision making
  • Working in and where appropriate, leading a multidisciplinary team
  • Assessing and prioritizing patient/client requirements, delegating effectively to others
  • Recognizing, reviewing, and reporting a patient's condition and any changes to the patient and the multidisciplinary team
  • Performing basic administrative and clerical tasks

Essential qualifications include:

  • Being a registered Doctor
  • At least 2 years post-graduate experience
  • 6 months recent NHS experience within the last 3 years
  • Passing an enhanced background check
