Credit Risk Analyst

We are seeking a highly skilled Credit Risk Analyst to join our team on a 12-month maternity cover basis. As a key member of our Credit Risk team, you will play a crucial role in supporting our lending objectives through the provision of insightful analytics and risk assessments.
Key Responsibilities- Model Development and Maintenance: Assist in the development and maintenance of credit risk models and scorecards to support operational decisions, including new lending scorecards and affordability models.
- Data Analysis: Conduct meaningful analysis on mortgage data from both internal and external sources to inform lending activities and support decision-making.
- Reporting and Presentations: Support the presentation of analysis and models to Credit and Risk committees for approval, and provide information to the Board, Risk Committee, and other governance committees on credit risk exposures.
- Scorecard Monitoring: Monitor scorecards and models to ensure they are performing within tolerances, and identify areas for improvement.
- Ad-Hoc Analysis: Conduct ad-hoc credit risk analysis and report writing as directed.
- Data Mart Development: Support the evolution of the Society's Data Mart by identifying requirements and participating in the ongoing development and testing process.
- Risk Management: Identify and manage risk within your area of responsibility.
- Highly Numerate and Analytical: Possess strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex data.
- Data Mining and Statistical Software: Have exposure to data mining or statistical software, such as SAS or equivalent.
- Microsoft Excel: Possess good knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Credit Risk Lifecycle: Have knowledge of the credit risk lifecycle, ideally relating to mortgages.
- Communication Skills: Possess strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messaging to suit different audiences.
- Organizational Skills: Be highly organized and able to meet tight deadlines, prioritizing tasks as required.
- Attention to Detail: Possess a high level of attention to detail, ensuring the production of analyses with a consistently high degree of accuracy.
