About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Programme Manager to join the Oxford Vaccine Group in the Department of Paediatrics. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing oversight of the management of clinical trials or clinical programs, working closely with a team of Programme managers across the department. The role will involve managing a large portfolio of research projects, from preclinical to late phase and post-licensure vaccine trials. The ideal candidate will have excellent leadership and project management skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks. The Oxford Vaccine Group is a world leader in child health research, and this role will provide an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development and improvement of vaccines for the adult and paediatric population. The post is full-time for 2 years in the first instance, with the possibility of extension. The role requires on-site working at least 4 days per week, with remote working facilitated one day a week.

About the Department

The Department of Paediatrics is a world-renowned research department, hosting internationally acclaimed research programmes in drug development, gastroenterology, haematology, HIV, immunology, neuroimaging, neuromuscular diseases, and vaccinology. The Oxford Vaccine Group is part of a UKCRC registered clinical trial unit and is a centre of excellence for clinical trials of vaccines for the adult and paediatric population. The department conducts studies aimed at reducing the worldwide toll of deaths and disabilities from major infectious diseases, working closely with multiple collaborators across the world. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic and collaborative environment, contributing to the development of innovative solutions for vaccine development and improvement.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following key responsibilities:

• Providing oversight of the management of clinical trials or clinical programs

• Managing a large portfolio of research projects, from preclinical to late phase and post-licensure vaccine trials

• Working closely with a team of Programme managers across the department

• Collaborating with multiple collaborators across the world

• Contributing to the development and improvement of vaccines for the adult and paediatric population

Requirements

The successful candidate will have the following requirements:

• A degree in a relevant field, such as life sciences, medicine, or a related field

• Excellent leadership and project management skills

• The ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• The ability to work collaboratively as part of a team

• A strong understanding of clinical trials and vaccine development
