Support Specialist for Students with Autism

We are a specialist school in Effingham, Leatherhead seeking an experienced Teaching Assistant to support students aged 11-16 years old with Autism and associated behavioural and communication difficulties.
The ideal candidate will have experience working with SEN in an employed or voluntary setting and hold a recognised qualification at Level 2 or above in Support work for Teaching and Learning in Schools or an equivalent. A GCSE pass in Maths and English (C / 4 or Functional Skills Level 2) is also required.
As a Teaching Assistant, your role will be to provide high-quality support to our children, enabling them to access education and develop life skills. You will form positive relationships with our pupils, promoting independence and personal development, and maintain high expectations of behaviour at all times.
You will support the class teacher in providing educational activities and experiences, aiming at pupils achieving their full potential in all areas of learning. Flexibility is key in this role, as duties may vary, and candidates must be able to lend a hand whenever required.
This is a permanent position, working 40 hours per week, term-time only. Salary: £23,514.45 per annum (£12.31 - £13.16 per hour). Plus a £1000 Welcome bonus.
