Quality Assurance Specialist

Job OverviewWe are seeking a highly organized Quality Assurance Specialist to join our team in Flixborough, Scunthorpe. As a key member of our quality control team, you will be responsible for ensuring adherence to quality and technical procedures, completing paperwork accurately, receiving raw materials at the correct quality, and delivering customer orders according to specifications.
Key Responsibilities- Goods In Checks: Conduct thorough inspections of received raw materials, document results, and inform management of any out-of-specification material.
- Daily Safety Compliance Checks: Review production and finished product areas for safety compliance, checking paperwork for accuracy.
- Hygiene Checks: Conduct personal and equipment hygiene checks to ensure compliance with company standards.
- Customer Complaints and Raw Material/Product Traces: Assist in investigating customer complaints and raw material/product traces.
- Site Information Boards: Support updating site information boards.
- HACCP, GMP, SOPs, BRCGS Global Standard for Food Safety, and Customer Codes of Practice: Complete internal audits against these standards and assist in on-site customer visits and audits.
- Material, Finished Product, or Water/Ice Samples Collection: Collect samples for micro or chemistry analysis, conduct swabbing of personnel hands and equipment, and book results online.
- Scales and Probes Calibration: Conduct weekly calibrations of scales and probes and maintain records.
- Product Labeling: Set up labels for new products and verify labels in production.
- Finished Product Checks: Conduct finished product checks, document results, and inform management of any out-of-specification product.
- A minimum of 1 year of experience in QA and/or raw materials/chilled produce is required.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
- Good level of written and spoken English is mandatory.
- Excellent attention to detail and thoroughness with all paperwork and documentation are crucial.
- A satisfactory level of IT literacy skills is necessary.
This role offers a competitive salary range from £24,000.00 per year, depending on skills, knowledge, and experience. Additionally, we provide statutory benefits, 28 days holiday (pro-rata), pension scheme, long service award scheme, comfortable break areas, self-service facilities, complementary tea and coffee, recruitment referral bonus scheme, and all PPE equipment provided.
This is a full-time, permanent contract position requiring 40 hours per week, working Tuesday to Saturday. Flexible working hours may be required subject to business needs and holiday cover.
