Job Summary
The Commonwealth of Virginia is seeking a highly skilled Employment Analyst to join the Human Resources Division. As an Employment Analyst, you will play a critical role in career progression and promotion of sworn employees within the Virginia State Police.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement career progression programs to promote employee growth and development.
- Prepare and administer promotional testing, including verifying test materials and filing completed instruments.
- Coordinate with the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) to obtain serial numbers for promotional testing.
- Develop and maintain promotional testing timelines and schedules.
- Prepare and disseminate promotional announcements, including certificates and correspondence.
- Administer the Career Progression Program and maintain related records.
- Provide backup support and cross-train with other Employment Unit members.
Requirements
- Working knowledge of human resources policies and procedures, employment recruitment and selection procedures, and human resources automated systems.
- Skilled in using a computer, including Microsoft Office Suite applications and data entry.
- Demonstrated ability to create and format employment announcements, review incoming employment forms, provide training, and independently investigate and solve problems related to human resources issues.
- Graduation from high school or equivalent.
- Experience in using personal computers and related software, such as the Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of the Department of Human Resource Management (DHRM) policies and procedures related to employment.
- Experience working with third-party testing providers, such as proctors, remote testing services, and testing facilities.
- Ability to facilitate an entire testing program.
- Experience in using Oracle eBusiness Suite (OEBS), Cardinal, and PageUp.
