We are seeking a highly skilled and organized Finance Assistant to join our team at Northern Powergrid. As a key member of our Finance department, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional customer service, processing daily cash receipting, and ensuring the smooth operation of our financial systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Process customer payments received, including cheques, BACS, CHAPS, and Purchase Orders
  • Download income bank statements from Lloyds Bank daily and allocate funds accordingly
  • Input relevant receipting details into CFS and complete banking schedules
  • Contact customers with queries regarding payments received without remittance advices
  • Complete journal transfers for payments made into incorrect bank accounts
  • Upload and reconcile debit/credit card payments on a daily basis
  • Process customer refunds in a timely manner
  • Take customer credit/debit card payments over the telephone
  • Monitor email correspondence and deal with incoming queries and telephone calls
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) including English and Math at grade C or 4 or above
  • Good attention to detail and IT skills, particularly in Excel and Outlook
  • Excellent customer service skills and ability to work collaboratively
  • Planning and organization skills, with the ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines
