Cranswick Country Foods PLC is seeking a skilled Kitchen Assistant to join our team in the Prep Area. As a key member of our kitchen team, you will work closely with our classically trained chefs to prepare and cook a variety of products.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that each product specification is followed, and any anomalies are reported immediately under the guidance of the Area Manager.
  • Loading and unloading cookers, blast chillers, and holding chillers while monitoring and documenting product temperatures.
  • Setting of cooker programmes and delay timers.
  • Manage products through the manufacturing process in accordance with agreed technical, hygiene, and quality standards.
  • Work efficiently to achieve daily production and cooking plan and communicate any shortfalls or problems in a timely manner.
  • Operate tools, machines, and equipment, for which training will be provided, to assist in the food manufacturing process.
  • Maintain full and accurate cooking and cooling records within agreed timescales.
  • Maintain best hygiene practices when loading and unloading products to prevent cross-contamination from occurring.
  • Complete all paperwork as instructed accurately and within specific time frames.

Candidate Requirements:

  • A passion for cooking and a keen desire to learn.
  • Good standard of English, both orally and written.
  • Food Hygiene certificate and basic understanding of health and safety.
  • Experience of working in food production, an advantage.
  • Self-motivated, reliable with good timekeeping.
  • Basic numeric and literacy skills.
