Job Overview

Morson Technical Services seeks an Air Stores Control Engineer to join their team at RNAS Yeovilton on a permanent basis.

Key Responsibilities
  • Air Stores Control: Control all priority and state demands for RNAS Yeovilton based aircraft and user units, ensuring checks and controls are completed IAW working practises before release.
  • Focal Point: Act as the focal point between squadrons, departments, ECS, SCOC, detached operations, and the SLICTs for all priority progression, engineering related issues at RNAS Yeovilton.
  • ASCO Operation: Ensure ASCO is operated with LH and MoD SHE requirements fully understood.
  • Inventory Control: Support the Inventory Controllers to vet demands which cannot be met from stock and investigate alternative sources of supply.
  • Demand Progression: Assist in the progression of high priority demands and ensure demands are hastened to achieve RDDs.
  • Priority Code and State Caveat: Ensure demands are given the correct priority code, state caveat, and RDD.
  • Cannibalisation Logs: Maintain Cannibalisation Logs for all aircraft Cannibalisation activity.
  • IT Systems: Operate all IT systems relevant to the role, including SAP, MJDI, CIETP, and ModNet.
  • ASDER and Replacement: Check the ASCO/PPC awaiting Stores action area in the Air Stores Demand Electronic Record (ASDER) to ensure prompt action of state requests.
  • Liaison and Communication: Liaise with the Inventory Controllers, R2 Repair Manager, and other stakeholders to ensure all 2nd Line assets are reviewed as a solution prior to the demand being submitted.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Process documentation in support of the Cannibalisation process and maintain ASDER and the SDT with the latest supply information.
  • Technical Assistance: Respond to technical questions from the SLICT and Delivery Teams.
  • Relationship Building: Establish and maintain strong working relationships with all IOS Industry Alliance and MoD Stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Problem-Solving Abilities: Highly developed problem-solving abilities and the ability to apply them in a support environment.
  • Engineering Knowledge: Have an engineering understanding of the rotary wing aircraft and their systems.
  • Material Supply Process: Have a working knowledge of the Material Supply process from Supplier to Customer.
  • Experience and Qualifications: Have a minimum of 5 years' experience in an engineering or logistics related subject plus 5 years working in defence industry with specific experience in a support environment for rotary wing aircraft.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Be an excellent communicator with the ability to interface with all levels of the Authority and industry daily.
  • Adaptability and Flexibility: Be adaptable and flexible to the changing needs of a Service Delivery environment.
