Avant Homes is a leading housebuilder operating in various regions across the UK, with a strong presence in Scotland, the North East of England, Yorkshire, and the East and West Midlands. We have a dynamic and ambitious growth strategy, and we're seeking a talented Trainee Solicitor to join our in-house legal team.

The successful candidate will work closely with our Group Legal team at our head office and regional office in North Yorkshire, gaining valuable experience in a variety of housebuilding legal matters. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your knowledge and skillset, and complete your training contract.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and draft legal documentation on behalf of the Group Legal department.
  • Complete legal agreements in relation to various legal matters.
  • Create and maintain case files.
  • Conduct legal research.
  • Raise and respond to queries.
  • Ensure the efficient and effective handling of disputes.
  • Provide legal advice and support on a wide range of legal matters.
  • Shadow the wider Group Legal team to receive mentorship and support throughout the duration of the Training Contract.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of best practice policy and compliance.
  • Collaborate with and support various projects and workgroups.

Requirements:

  • A relevant law qualification and working towards or having recently completed your LPC.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage your time effectively.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • An enthusiasm for a career in law.
  • A hardworking, motivated, and adaptable attitude, with a willingness to learn.
  • Effective research and analytical skills.
  • Excellent IT and communication skills.
  • A commitment to training and self-development.
