Salary: £80,000 - £100,000 per annum
Job Description: This role will involve leading the design, development, and implementation of control systems for major projects in the nuclear and hydro storage sectors. You will work closely with clients and stakeholders, translating project requirements into robust, scalable, and reliable control systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, specification, and implementation of control systems for nuclear or hydro storage projects.
- Manage the integration of complex automation systems, including PLC, SCADA, and DCS platforms.
- Oversee and guide the configuration and programming of PLCs (Siemens S7, Allen Bradley), HMI/SCADA systems (Wonderware System Platform).
- Perform system-level troubleshooting, debugging, and optimisation to ensure system performance meets required specifications.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams including project managers, electrical engineers, and design engineers to ensure smooth project execution.
- Provide technical support to the project team and clients throughout the lifecycle of the project.
- Conduct and supervise testing and validation activities, including Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT).
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, safety procedures, and best practices for nuclear and hydro storage projects.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems, or related field.
- At least 7 years of experience in controls engineering, with a strong background in system integration and automation.
- Expertise with PLC programming, specifically Siemens S7, Allen Bradley PLCs.
- Proven experience in the nuclear sector or hydro storage projects.
- Knowledge of industry standards and regulations related to nuclear and hydro power projects.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Electrical or Control Systems Engineering.
- Experience with additional software platforms or automation systems.
- Prior experience with commissioning and start-up of large-scale industrial systems.
