Conflicts Resolution Group

The Conflicts Resolution Group at Goldman Sachs plays a critical role in evaluating the firm's business activities to identify, assess, and manage actual or perceived conflicts of interest. This involves reviewing a wide range of activities, including advisory, financing, principal investing, lending, and other activities, to ensure that the firm's client relationships are protected and reputational risks are mitigated.

Responsibilities and Qualifications

Responsibilities:

  • Review and initiate new checks, including coordinating with businesses to ensure accuracy and completeness of information
  • Conduct due diligence of business opportunities by considering the firm's current and historical assignments, positions, and economic exposures, and other touch points with relevant transaction parties
  • Identify potential issues and report findings to the Conflicts Resolution Group
  • Monitor and update the status of previously cleared opportunities using information from public sources, deal teams, and internal reporting tools
  • Document the elements of review for each conflict check in the group's proprietary database

Qualifications:

  • 1-3 years of work experience, preferably in the financial or legal sectors supporting Investment Banking or Corporate Finance
  • High attention to detail
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment with a high sense of urgency
  • Ability to process and analyze high volumes of information
  • Commercial savviness with ability to exercise discretion with respect to highly confidential situations/sensitive information; prudent risk management orientation
  • Strong communication skills and ability to interact directly with a wide group of professionals at different levels of seniority across the firm
  • Ability to work in close coordination with others as part of a global team
  • Proactive and self-motivated mindset
