The Role:

As a Financial Manager, you will be responsible for preparing financial statements, managing client relationships, and providing key financial insights. You will also be involved in external audits and will support the development of junior staff, ensuring that deadlines and high-quality standards are consistently met.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of year-end financial statements for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies.
  • Managing a portfolio of clients and acting as the main point of contact for any financial queries.
  • Leading and managing occasional audit assignments from planning through to completion for a wide range of clients, including SMEs and large corporations.
  • Reviewing financial statements and ensuring compliance with financial regulations and standards.
  • Preparing and submitting financial reports and tax returns.
  • Assisting with financial planning and budgeting for clients.
  • Providing clients with financial advice and insights based on their financial data.
  • Supervising and mentoring junior staff members, reviewing their work and supporting their development.

Requirements:

  • ACA/ACCA qualified (or equivalent) with a minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar role.
  • Strong experience in preparing financial statements and financial reports.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
  • Experience supervising or mentoring junior staff is an advantage.
  • Proficiency in accounting software such as Xero, Sage, or QuickBooks.
  • High level of attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
  • Proactive and able to work independently while also contributing to a team environment.
