About the Position:

An exciting opportunity has emerged within the dermatology team at a prominent NHS trust in the Lincolnshire area. We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated dermatologist to join our team, who can provide exceptional care to a largely rural population. The appointee will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality of care is delivered to the people of Lincolnshire.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide a comprehensive dermatology service to hospitals within the trust, working across various sites as required.
  • Coordinate departmental cover for dermatology, ensuring seamless service delivery.
  • Teach medical students, junior doctors, nursing staff, and General Practitioners, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and development.
  • Take an active part in the Postgraduate Medical Education program, contributing to the growth and development of medical professionals.
  • Have continuing responsibility for patients in their care and the proper functioning of the department.
  • Attend dermatology team meetings, actively contributing to the management and development of the clinical service and other service activities.
  • Meet Royal College of Physicians standards and British Association of Dermatologists in continuing medical education.
  • Participate in local mandatory training, annual medical appraisal, and revalidation.
  • Take part in the team, department, trust, district, regional, and national audit programs.
  • Provide professional supervision and management of nursing and medical staff.
  • Be involved in research where appropriate.

Person Specification:

  • Be on the GMC Specialist Register.
  • Hold MRCP(UK) or equivalent medical experience.
  • Have experience and understanding of NHS practice.

Special Knowledge and Abilities:

  • Special area of interest and expertise within dermatology, including skin surgery.
  • Special interest in surgery, paediatrics, or biological therapies.

Person Skills and Qualities:

  • Ability to teach trainees and General Practitioners.

Interests and Motivation:

  • Ability to assist in the development of the service.

Academic Achievement and Research Publication:

  • Participation in research.
  • Publications in peer-reviewed journals.

Other Skills:

  • Ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Experience of resource management and clinical audit.
