Job Overview:

We are looking for a skilled Wholesale Electricity Trader to join our team at Vallum Associates. In this role, you will be responsible for buying and selling wholesale electricity to maximize profitability.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Market Analysis: Conduct thorough market research and analysis to inform trading decisions.
  • Trading: Buy and sell wholesale electricity to optimize portfolio performance and minimize risk.
  • Forecasting: Create predictive models to forecast market trends and optimize trading outcomes.
  • Risk Management: Monitor and manage risk exposure, providing regular reports to stakeholders.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless execution of trading strategies.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Economics, Finance, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of energy trading markets, including wholesale electricity and gas markets.
  • Advanced proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Python, R, SQL, Excel).
  • Knowledge of optimization techniques and algorithmic trading methods.

Daily rate: £195-£270 per day. Outside IR35 contract. Remote working (must be based in the UK). With a daily rate of this level, you can expect a total yearly salary of around £79,100 - £114,600, depending on your experience and the number of days worked.
