Job SummaryWe are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Rolling Stock Technician to work on the overhaul and repair of wheelsets and bogies. The successful candidate will have relevant experience in a Mechanical engineering environment and hold Mechanical qualifications (such as NVQ 2 or 3).
Key Responsibilities- Carry out initial inspections of wheelsets and report any findings through the relevant maintenance portal and supervisor.
- Remove axle bearings, taking care to ensure no damage to the axle or components occurs, and prepare the bearings for dispatch to external companies.
- Perform painting activities, including repairs and spray painting.
- Remove wheel pans, taking the relevant precautions to ensure no damage to components is caused.
- Assist with cleaning of rolling stock when required.
- Relevant experience in a Mechanical engineering environment.
- Mechanical qualifications (such as NVQ 2 or 3).
- Able to act as a member of a multi-disciplined team.
- Problem solving skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to complete all records of actions and operations accurately and to procedures.
