About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Mobility Assessor to join our team at Fife Council. As a Mobility Assessor, you will play a vital role in enabling people with significant walking impairments or those at risk in traffic to maintain or regain their mobility independence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess Blue Badge applications for adults, children, and older people who are unable or virtually unable to walk or are at risk in traffic.
  • Communicate outcomes and recommendations to applicants and Mobility Assessors where further assessments or reviews are required.
  • Monitor caseloads and maintain accurate electronic records of actions and outcomes.
  • Provide support, expertise, and knowledge to Mobility Assessors and other members of the Blue Badge Team.
  • Apply new and current legislation impacting on service delivery and development of the Blue Badge service.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for a candidate with an SVQ level 3 qualification or equivalent and considerable experience of working within a Healthcare environment. You should be a confident user of IT applications and able to work as part of a team or on your own as required. Prior to appointment, you will be required to obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland.
