Job Summary


We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Mobility Specialist to join our Blue Badge Team. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in enabling people with mobility impairments to maintain their independence.


About the Role


The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing Blue Badge applications, communicating outcomes to applicants, and monitoring caseloads. You will also provide support and expertise to Mobility Assessors and other members of the Blue Badge Team.


Key Responsibilities



  • Assessing Blue Badge applications for adults, children, and older people who experience significant barriers to mobility
  • Communicating outcomes and recommendations to applicants and Mobility Assessors
  • Maintaining accurate electronic records of actions and outcomes
  • Providing support, expertise, and knowledge to Mobility Assessors and other team members
  • Applying new and current legislation impacting service delivery and contributing to strategies for change

Requirements


To be successful in this role, you will need to have:



  • A SVQ level 3 qualification or equivalent
  • Considerable experience working within a healthcare environment, preferably as an Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist
  • Excellent IT skills, including proficiency in using packages effectively and analysing information
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
