The Role

As a Commercial Specialist, you'll have a unique opportunity to work on several contracts and subcontracts, ensuring that all dealings with customers are transparent and honest. Your day-to-day tasks will include:

  • Ensuring that all contracts entered are to the best advantage of Babcock
  • Ensuring that all claims for payment are made in line with contract conditions
  • Assisting negotiations and participating in contract agreements with customers and subcontractors
  • Liaising with Senior Buyer SDP to assist with Invitations to Tender for potential subcontractors
  • Managing contract amendments to customer and supplier contracts

This role is full time, 37 hours per week, Monday to Thursday, with hybrid working available depending on business needs. Agile working may be available to employees in some instances, applying the principles of fairness and consistency while ensuring that the overriding business needs can be appropriately met.

Essential Experience

We're looking for a Commercial Specialist with:

  • Experience in a commercial background
  • Knowledge of contract conditions, especially Ministry of Defence
  • Previous experience in managing bids, projects, and terms and conditions
  • A good team player who is approachable and takes initiative
