As a Charity Shop Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our mission by promoting our charitable work within the community and delivering excellent customer service to visitors of our shop.

The estimated salary for this position is £9.50 per hour, based on the location and industry standards.

Job Description
  • Assist the Shop Manager/Deputy Shop Manager in promoting the work that St Luke's undertakes within the community of Sheffield.
  • Provide an efficient and effective customer service to the visitors of the shop and ensure appropriate standards of security and health and safety are met and maintained at all times.

Our retail volunteers assist the Shop Manager/Deputy Shop Manager in the day-to-day running of our shops, both on the shop floor and behind the scenes. This includes everything from unpacking donations and categorising donations, to serving customers at the till, to organising the shop floor and creating beautiful window displays.

Sub-Roles
  • Queue Buster: Assist with managing queues and ensuring a smooth shopping experience.
  • Donations Greeter: Welcome and process donations from the public.
  • Gift Aid Generator: Ensure Gift Aid is claimed on eligible donations.
  • Steamer: Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in the shop.
  • Stockroom Assistant: Assist with receiving, storing, and distributing stock.
  • Till Operator: Process sales transactions efficiently and accurately.
  • Visual Merchandiser: Create visually appealing window displays and shop layouts.
  • Warehouse Assistant: Assist with storing and retrieving stock from our warehouse.
