The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Senior or Principal Flood Modeller/Hydrologist to join our Hydrological Sciences team at Stantec UK. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality technical work and collaborating with clients, local authorities, and other stakeholders to achieve project goals.

Typical work will involve:

  1. Flood Risk Assessments and Flood Modelling (fluvial, pluvial and tidal)
  2. Outline Sustainable Drainage System (SuDS) design and/or detailed drainage design
  3. Hydraulic modelling (1D, 2D, and 1D-2D) of rivers
  4. Environmental Impact Assessments
  5. Hydromorphological impact assessments
  6. Water Framework Directive assessments
  7. Natural Flood Management Investigations
  8. Discharge permit applications

About You

You will hold strong experience in Hydraulic Modelling software (e.g Flood Modeller Pro, ISIS - Tuflow, Estry - Tuflow, WinDes and Microdrainage) with extensive knowledge of hydrological assessments and flow estimation or other flow calculation methods. Experience with SuDS and surface/foul water drainage design alongside experience with hydrological EIA is also essential.

You will ideally hold a degree in Environmental Science and must hold a relevant master's degree through a separate or integrated course. For this position, you should be chartered with a relevant professional institution, however we will consider and support individuals currently working towards obtaining chartership.
