The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Senior or Principal Flood Modeller/Hydrologist to join our Hydrological Sciences team at Stantec UK. As a key member of our team, you will work collaboratively with colleagues and independently to deliver high-quality projects and services to our clients.

Your responsibilities will include:

  1. Developing and implementing flood risk assessments and flood modelling strategies
  2. Designing and managing sustainable drainage systems and hydraulic modelling projects
  3. Conducting environmental impact assessments and hydromorphological impact studies
  4. Providing technical expertise and guidance to junior staff and clients
  5. Collaborating with clients, local authorities, and stakeholders to deliver projects and services

You will have a strong background in hydraulic modelling software, including Flood Modeller Pro, ISIS - Tuflow, and WinDes, as well as extensive knowledge of hydrological assessments and flow estimation methods. A degree in Environmental Science and a relevant master's degree are also essential. Chartered status with a relevant professional institution is preferred, but we will consider and support individuals currently working towards obtaining chartership.
