Role Overview
This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Pulsed Power Scientist, working on the design and development of pulsed power x-ray sources for flash radiography. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering Pulsed Power Programmes to agreed time, cost and quality metrics, using your skills and expertise to enhance electron beam flash radiographic sources and other pulsed power machine technologies.
Key Responsibilities
* Theoretical, modelling and analysis of experimental technical programmes
* Delivery of Pulsed Power Programmes to agreed time, cost and quality metrics
* Contribution to the further development of intense electron beam diode technologies
* Provision of technical input within own field of expertise that can influence project or team activity
Requirements
* A degree in Physics or STEM discipline, equivalent NQF level 6 qualification or equivalent experience
* Knowledge or working experience of pulsed power systems, electron beam transport or radiofrequency accelerating cavities
* Knowledge or working experience of electromagnetic modelling codes e.g. Circuit Simulation, Particle in Cell or Radiation Transport
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
