About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Cover Supervisor to join our team at Teaching Personnel. As a Cover Supervisor, you will play a vital role in maintaining a calm and focused learning environment when teachers are absent.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise students in the absence of the classroom teacher, ensuring they remain engaged and on-task.
  • Manage classroom behaviour, upholding the school's behaviour policies and dealing with any disruptive students appropriately.
  • Provide support to pupils during lessons, responding to their questions and concerns.
  • Report back to teachers on the progress and behaviour of students during the lesson.
  • Assist with administrative tasks as required.
Requirements
  • Minimum GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
  • A degree is beneficial but not essential, particularly for those considering a future in teaching.
  • A genuine interest in working with young people and a passion for education.
  • Ability to manage classroom behaviour confidently and calmly.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
  • Adaptability, as you'll be working across a variety of subjects.
  • Previous experience in an educational setting or working with children is beneficial, but not essential.
