Job Title: Management Accountant

British Sugar plc is seeking a skilled Management Accountant to join our team. As a key member of our finance team, you will play a vital role in providing financial insights and support to our operational site.

Job Purpose:

Reporting to the Site Finance Lead, you will be responsible for delivering financial analysis and reporting to support business decision-making. You will work closely with the operational team and wider finance team to ensure accurate and timely financial information is provided.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and interpret weekly and monthly management accounts to provide financial insights and support business decision-making.
  • Analyze financial metrics for your area of responsibility and partner with the business to understand, control, and maintain these.
  • Update and audit internal systems to ensure accurate onward reporting of key metrics.
  • Produce and track budgets and forecasting for use within the site.
  • Identify and flag variances to budget for CI and capital projects.
  • Produce operations product costing across our 4 operational units.
  • Complete CMS calculations within budget timescales.
  • Champion company policy and control to ensure your area of responsibility is audit-ready.
Requirements:
  • CIMA/ACCA/ACA qualified or part-qualified with continuing studies.
  • Experience working in finance within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong IT skills, particularly MS Excel.
  • Good communication skills, including sharing financial data with non-financial teams.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize tasks.
  • Driven with a desire to achieve results.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
