We are seeking a skilled Laboratory Technician to join our team in Great Yarmouth. As a Laboratory Technician, you will play a crucial role in the management and testing of soil samples, working closely with our Laboratory Manager and other technicians and engineers.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Receiving and processing soil samples, ensuring accurate documentation and logging in our laboratory system.
- Conducting sub-sampling and testing in accordance with established procedures and standards.
- Becoming proficient in basic laboratory testing, including moisture content, PSD sedimentation, and particle density.
- Ensuring proper sample handling and storage, adhering to ASTM and BS standards.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A strong foundation in chemistry or geology, preferably at A-level or equivalent.
- The ability to learn and adapt to new testing procedures and standards.
- Experience working in a laboratory environment, although not essential.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Flexibility to travel, with a valid passport and driving license.
