Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic pharmacist to join our team as the Lead Pharmacist for Medication Safety and Governance. In this role, you will work closely with the Medication Safety Officer to monitor and support improvements in medication safety across our organisation.

Main Responsibilities

Key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Supporting the Medication Safety Officer in improving medication error incident reporting and learning within the Trust
  • Coordinating, monitoring, and auditing actions to ensure compliance with Care Quality Commission criteria
  • Actively supporting the Medication Safety Officer to improve medication safety within the trust and ensure good clinical governance and risk management within medicines management activities
  • Planning, developing, coordinating, and auditing the impact of medicines safety initiatives across the Trust
  • Being a key member of the Pharmacy Clinical Governance Meetings, ensuring any agreed plans or areas of concern are fully integrated into the overall Quality Management System within Pharmacy
  • Supporting the running of the Trust Medicines Safety Committee, producing Trust-wide medicines safety communication, and assisting with the Trust PSIRF agenda work streams
