We are seeking a highly skilled Serious Violence Prevention Specialist to join our Community Safety and Wellbeing Team at West Sussex County Council.

This role offers a unique opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of local communities by working to prevent and reduce instances of serious violence.

The successful candidate will have significant expertise in community and contextual safeguarding, with experience of developing strategic plans and associated budgets.

They will also have strong leadership and effective people management skills, with the ability to create succinct, compelling evidence-based narratives to accompany project ideas.

A post-graduate degree or equivalent qualification is essential, along with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

This role is subject to a DBS check and satisfactory references. A health check may also be required.

About this role:

  • Design and develop practices across front-line practice through training and other methods
  • Work with partners to engage with communities and residents impacted by serious violence
  • Apply safeguarding and local service knowledge to diagnose complex problems and provide technical advice
  • Manage budget and evaluate funded projects
