We are seeking an experienced Development Underwriter to join our client's high-performing team in the Midlands and South West region. As a key member of the team, you will play a crucial role in leading the profitable growth of a panel of Brokers, engaging them in-person and virtually, and delivering complex underwriting solutions for their clients.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and maintain strong relationships with Brokers to identify new business opportunities and grow the branch's portfolio.
- Lead underwriting surgeries and provide expert guidance on complex cases to ensure profitable growth.
- Win, retain, and underwrite larger, more complex cases consistently and profitably.
- Develop and execute the local underwriting strategy for your specialist area, in conjunction with the management team.
- Collaborate with underwriting management to support Brokers on the right business and ensure target retention rates are achieved.
- Identify and implement underwriting process efficiencies within the team to drive business growth.
- Previous experience in Professional Indemnity and/or Property & Casualty Underwriting.
- Experience of managing and interacting with insurance brokers.
- Ability to act as the referral point for larger, more complex cases.
- Strong communication, relationship management, and interpersonal skills.
