Development Underwriter Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Development Underwriter to join our client's high-performing team in the Midlands and South West region. As a key member of the underwriting team, you will play a crucial role in leading the profitable growth of a panel of Brokers, engaging them in-person and virtually, and delivering complex underwriting solutions for their clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with Brokers to identify new business opportunities and grow the branch's portfolio.
  • Lead underwriting surgeries and provide expert guidance on complex cases to ensure profitable growth and retention.
  • Collaborate with the management team to develop and execute the local underwriting strategy, driving business growth and efficiency.
  • Identify and implement process efficiencies to improve underwriting performance and reduce costs.
  • Act as a referral point for larger, more complex cases, providing expert underwriting solutions and ensuring timely and profitable outcomes.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in Professional Indemnity and/or Property & Casualty Underwriting, with a strong track record of building and maintaining effective relationships with Brokers.
  • Excellent communication, relationship management, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to analyze complex data and make informed decisions to drive business growth and profitability.
