Sarah Sykes Recruitment is seeking a Senior Outerwear Garment Technologist to join their team in London. The estimated salary for this position is £45,000 - £60,000 per annum, depending on experience.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the product range is delivered on time and quality is fit for purpose. This includes supporting the Technical manager and working with the product & design teams to deliver a commercial range. As an experienced Women's Senior Outerwear Garment Technologist, you will also cover men's & children's products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and maintain product performance requirements through supplier up-skilling, testing, and monitoring.
  • Agree manufacturing methods are achievable in bulk production.
  • Apply appropriate methods of communication with supply base, showing initiative and creative thinking where necessary to solve problems.
  • Prepare fit comments / size specs and graded size specs for the factory.
  • Work with the Outerwear dept to prepare specs/patterns/diagrams.
  • Visit suppliers to improve quality standards, working relationships, and increase personal knowledge of manufacturing capabilities.

Requirements:

  • Garment/Fabric Technologist QA/QC/PD experience working at an advanced level, ideally for a fashion supplier or High Street retailer.
  • Knowledge of garment construction, pattern cutting, and fitting process.
  • Strong knowledge of fabric testing standards & care labels for Outerwear.
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office, PLM / Centric an advantage.
  • Knowledge of developing product for fit, quality, and performance.
  • Knowledge of garment wash techniques/ processes.
  • Ability to effectively risk-analyse product.
  • Expert knowledge of consumer product safety requirements to ensure compliance that is commercial & adherence to legal requirements.
  • Innovative & analytical thinking, seeking opportunities & problem solving.
  • Degree Level (relevant discipline).
