The Role

We are seeking an experienced Design Manager to join our team, reporting directly to the Design Lead for the region. This office-based role offers a flexible working arrangement, allowing you to balance your personal needs with the demands of the project and client.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage contract specifications, drawings, and related documents to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Issue and close out Requests For Information (RFIs) in a timely manner.
  • Chair design team meetings and lead the process with consultants and subcontract designers to ensure clear understanding and effective communication.
  • Submit design information to the client team, ensuring seamless collaboration and project progress.
  • Ensure BREEAM compliance on projects, working closely with the sustainability team to achieve this goal.
  • Coordinate the submission of information to discharge planning conditions, with support from the Planning Consultant/Lead Designer.
  • Lead design review workshops with consultant and subcontract design teams to ensure a clear understanding of design and technical submissions.
  • Conduct technical reviews of proposed works to ensure quality and compliance.
  • Coordinate the submission of information to satisfy Building Control compliance, working closely with the Building Control Officer.
  • Manage the design process and issue information release schedules to ensure timely project delivery.
  • Provide input and design reviews into the procurement process to ensure effective project management.
  • Offer design and technical support to project management teams to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Review and advise on value engineering opportunities to optimize project costs and efficiency.
  • Maintain and nurture strong relationships with external parties to promote mutual benefits and teamwork across all departments.
