Business Development Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Business Development Manager to join our team in Spalding/Boston. This is an exciting opportunity for a candidate who is looking to grow their career with a dynamic and ambitious company.
As a Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of clients to ensure exceptional customer satisfaction. Your key responsibilities will include reviewing and reporting on account performance, undertaking regular client visits, promoting positive client engagement, and identifying growth opportunities from within your portfolio.
The role will also involve involvement with practice and workflow management for the whole team, as well as strategic planning with clients. You will have an active involvement in the development of our approach and creating a culture of continuous improvement and best practice across the team.
Key Responsibilities- Managing client relationships and ensuring exceptional customer service through regular touch points with clients both online and in-person
- Exploring development opportunities with existing relationships to increase portfolio sizes and add to business development for the whole service line
- Managing finances of portfolios, including driving monthly billing targets, monitoring and improving recoveries, debt recovery, and forecasting
- Reviewing VAT returns, personal tax returns, and partnership returns, limited company, and sole trader accounts
- Assisting in the management of the office and developing junior members of staff
- Identifying training and development needs and ensuring these are facilitated
We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:
- Minimum 5 years' demonstrable experience within an accountancy practice background
- ACA/ACCA qualified
- Proficient in MS Office/highly PC literate, along with sound accounting system knowledge. Iris software experience would be beneficial
- Methodical approach to handling workload of both self and others
- Must be extremely organized and flexible, with a positive, solutions-based perspective
- Excellent communication skills, written and oral, and ability to develop strong client and team relationships
