Main Responsibilities

The Security Officer will be responsible for delivering a professional, courteous, and responsive security presence at Great Western Hospital in Swindon. This includes high-visibility foot patrols, emergency response to security issues, and provision of a safe and secure environment for staff, patients, and visitors.

Key Duties
  1. Deliver all duties in accordance with Assignment Instructions, British Standards, and Serco Health BU Security Codes of Conduct.
  2. Maintain a current SIA license and undertake necessary First Aid and top-up training.
  3. Act as the first line of emergency response to security situations.
  4. Provide a responsive security service that recognizes equality and dignity of all staff, patients, and visitors.
  5. Monitor CCTV systems to identify anti-social behavior and instances of crime.
  6. Respond to reports of missing patients and conduct searches to locate them.
  7. Submit detailed reports on security issues, crime, and health and safety to supervisors.
  8. Maintain relevant logs and indices as required.
  9. Cash handling and car parking enforcement services.
  10. First line support for car park intercoms, pay stations, and barriers.
  11. Act as an ambassador for best practice and the Security Department.
  12. Engage in training provision as required.
  13. Undertake ad hoc duties as directed by management.
Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess a Front Line SIA Security, Door Supervisor License, and First Aid qualification. Significant industry experience as a Security Officer in a corporate and/or healthcare environment is also required.
