About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Family Support Worker to join our team at Hurdle. As a key member of our staff, you will work closely with families who are at risk of recurrent care proceedings, providing holistic, trauma-informed relationship-based support.

Your primary responsibility will be to build effective relationships with parents, helping them achieve a safe home environment for themselves and their children. You will also facilitate access to resources, services, and opportunities that promote long-term parental well-being and resilience.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver parent-led, tailored support through face-to-face, virtual, and telephone interactions.
  • Design and deliver individualized support plans covering topics such as parenting, child development, guidance, boundaries, relationships, cooking, budgeting, benefits, housing, and CV or job applications.
  • Provide practical and emotional support for families who suffer the trauma of their child/ren being removed from their care.
  • Encourage parents to reflect on and strengthen their ability to create a safe environment for their children.

We offer a competitive salary of £25,000 - £30,000 per annum, depending on experience. In addition to your salary, you will receive a range of benefits, including mileage reimbursement for community visits, employee assistance programme, health shield, pension scheme, life assurance, and continuous training and professional development opportunities.

Please note that this role requires flexibility, including evenings, weekends, and Bank Holidays if required.
