About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Economist Associate to join our team at Moody's. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for analyzing data, contributing to forecasts, and providing economic insights to our clients.

Responsibilities
  • Analyze economic data and contribute to forecasts for company publications.
  • Contribute to our website commentary by covering economic indicators.
  • Work with senior staff on research and consulting projects.
  • Gain expertise sufficient to act as a direct resource to external and internal clients for certain states, countries, and metro areas.
  • General spreadsheet analysis; gather and interpret economic data for internal and external clients.
  • Assume responsibility for forecasting and analyzing sub-national and country economies with assistance from peer editor, supervisor, and product editor.
  • May contribute to research for consulting projects and research articles including summarizing and organizing materials and producing charts, tables, and maps for client reports.
  • May learn and use database management software to access and transform data. Adapt existing programs for new uses.
  • May provide routine client deliveries under supervision.
  • May be responsible for development and improvement of proprietary data and economic indicators.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Economics or related field.
  • Relevant internship or coursework required.
  • Strong writing skills and experience in the use of statistical software packages.
  • Motivated, responsible individual who can work well with others and independently.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work directly with clients.
  • Background that involves some understanding of U.S. regional economies and/or European economies is a plus.
