Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced CNC Machine Shop Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our machine shop. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, operational management, and problem-solving to ensure the machine shop meets its performance targets and supports the company's overall strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement manufacturing strategies and action plans to align the machine shop with business objectives.
  2. Plan and manage daily production in line with the order book and future projects.
  3. Conduct performance appraisals, identify training needs, and work with the Production Manager to develop a multi-skilled, flexible, and motivated team.
  4. Collaborate with designers and customers to provide input on both new developments and existing products.
  5. Program and offline program using CADCAM software.
  6. Set up and operate CNC machines as required.
  7. Maintain clear communication with customers and stakeholders at all levels.
  8. Ensure accurate stock management and booking of materials to specific jobs.
  9. Collaborate with other manufacturing teams to maintain product quality and meet standards.
  10. Attend and contribute to monthly management meetings.
  11. Lead team planning sessions and manage production workload.
  12. Ensure production documentation is logged and updated.
  13. Implement lean manufacturing practices to enhance efficiency.
  14. Monitor daily performance targets, including quality and productivity metrics.
  15. Ensure compliance with safety, process, procedures, and quality assurance standards.
Requirements:
  1. Proven experience managing or supervising in a CNC machine shop environment.
  2. Strong organisational skills with the ability to plan ahead and work systematically.
  3. Adaptable to change and able to manage pressure effectively.
  4. Focused on delivering high-quality products that meet customer satisfaction and standards.
  5. Experience with CADCAM software and CNC machine operations.
Benefits:
  1. £65,000 per annum + benefits
  2. Company pension with 3% employer contributions.
  3. 25 days annual leave + statutory holidays.
  4. Working hours: Monday-Thursday 7 am to 4 pm, Friday 7 am to 12 pm.
