At Direct Line Group, we're looking for a skilled Indirect Tax Accounting Lead to join our team. As a key member of our finance department, you'll be responsible for managing and reviewing VAT account reconciliations and returns.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the monthly review of VAT accounts reconciliations to ensure accurate and timely submissions.
  • Consolidate and file quarterly VAT returns to HMRC, ensuring compliance with statutory deadlines.
  • Prepare Error Correction Notifications (ECNs) to HMRC and coordinate remedial actions.
  • Review and maintain the property Option to Tax register and prepare new option to tax notifications.
  • Ensure tax and non-tax risks are recorded and addressed.

Requirements:

  • Chartered Institute of Taxation or equivalent qualification.
  • Post-qualification experience in accounting or tax.
  • Financial services experience.
  • Solid technical grounding in UK tax accounting.
  • Effective working relationships with tax authorities and external advisers.
