Payroll Specialist Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Payroll Specialist to join our team at Wellers Accountants. As a Payroll Specialist, you will play a crucial role in managing a diverse portfolio of payroll clients, ensuring all payroll matters are handled with precision.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Process Payrolls: Accurately and efficiently process monthly payrolls for our clients, ensuring all deadlines are met.
  2. Legislative Compliance: Ensure all payroll actions comply with relevant legislation and contractual obligations.
  3. Client Support: Provide advice to clients and the Wellers team, responding to payroll queries and supporting clients with payroll reporting requirements.
  4. PAYE and Pension Administration: Assist with setting up new PAYE schemes, handling payroll transitions, and managing Auto Enrolment enquiries.
  5. Manual Calculations: Perform manual payroll calculations when necessary.
  6. HMRC Communication: Communicate with HMRC regarding any PAYE-related queries.
About You
  1. Knowledge and Experience: Undergraduate degree in a relevant subject and relevant payroll qualifications. Experience in end-to-end payroll processing and auto enrolment administration is preferred.
  2. Skills and Abilities: Analytical skills, ability to work as part of a team, and enthusiasm for providing high-quality service.
What You Will Get in Return
  1. Permanent Part-time Role: A permanent part-time role (30 hours per week worked flexibly over 4 or 5 days).
  2. Competitive Salary: Competitive salary: £25,000-£31,000 per annum pro rata (DOE).
  3. Benefits: A £500 welcome bonus following probation, 25 days holiday (+ bank holidays & additional Wellers and volunteering days), pro-rated to the contracted hours of work, and more.
