Senior Underwriter, Terrorism and Political Violence

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Underwriter to join our team in London, working on a full-time basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for influencing and implementing underwriting profit goals in Terrorism and Political Violence risks, in accordance with our business plan.
Key Responsibilities:
- Underwrite new business and renewals according to defined underwriting guidelines, specified budget, and local business plan.
- Assist in formulating underwriting strategy, forecasts, and portfolio management to achieve underwriting profitability.
- Ensure quality control within defined area of responsibility by undertaking quantitative underwriting reviews and peer reviews.
- Work closely with underwriters in other lines of business across the UK&I to maximise cross-sell opportunities.
- Prioritise and develop products within area of specialist expertise to improve client retention and new business.
- Represent and promote Chubb corporately to brokers, internal, and external clients domestically and overseas.
- Meet company standards in respect of policy documentation, timeframes for quoting new and renewal business, and compliance rules.
- Work within the framework of Chubb ethical and service standards.
Requirements:
- Comprehensive understanding and experience of underwriting Terrorism and Political Violence.
- Good working knowledge of Multinational Underwriting, the insurance market, and competitors.
- Solid experience of dealing with brokers and clients.
- Results-driven with ability to make own decisions and work on own initiative.
- Adaptable and resilient to changes in market conditions and business requirements.
- Excellent attention to detail with experience using complex pricing and risk selection tools.
- Experience of training, mentoring, and people development is desired.
- Continues to develop technical and broader business skills.
- Strong team player and ability to build strong relationships quickly.
- Excellent verbal and oral communication skills.
- ACII preferred.
