Job Title: Structural Detail Design Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Structural Detail Design Engineer to join our team at Expleo. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for creating detailed 2D and 3D CAD models and drawings to meet required standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Creation of CAD Models and Drawings: Produce detailed 2D and 3D CAD models and drawings to meet required standards.
  • Design Deliverables: Ensure all design deliverables are completed accurately and on time.
  • Liaise with colleagues and stakeholders during appropriate design phases to ensure coordination and functionality of design.
  • Project Support: Contribute to and support the entire project and product design cycle, from concept to construction and installation.
  • Technical Support: Provide technical support during the construction and installation phases.
  • Perform self-verification of work.
  • Reporting of technical progress and issues to line management.
  • Be aware of and ensure that safety, health and environmental requirements are implemented.
  • Assist with the maintenance and improvement in quality standards of outputs.
  • Change embodiment.
Requirements:
  • The candidate is required to hold an NC/HNC or an equivalent qualification/experience in Structural/Outfitting discipline subject.
  • Apprenticeship in relevant discipline or relevant industry experience.
Essential Skills:
  • Familiarity with shipbuilding/ship repair terminology and practices.
  • Be proficient in the use of one or more parametric/spec driven CAD system both in a 3D & 2D environment.
  • FORAN.
  • Windchill.
Desired Skills:
  • Preferable T26 Experience.
Experience:
  • Experience in Design processed and procedures specifically within detail design (stage 2 modelling/stage 3 outputs) working on Naval or Commercial Marine projects (preferably naval shipbuilding projects/alternatively new build or major conversion packages) or similar.
