HR Director Position at Avara Foods

We are looking for a skilled HR Director to lead our Operational HR Team at Avara Foods' Hereford site. As an inclusive and forward-thinking company, we prioritize investing in our employees and providing ongoing training and development opportunities.

This position offers the chance to work in a fast-paced FMCG environment, Monday to Friday, and be part of a supportive and progressive working culture.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Business Partnership: Develop close working relationships with site leaders to provide timely and professional HR guidance aligned with company policy and legal requirements.
  2. HR Process Implementation: Ensure consistent application of HR processes across the site.
  3. Compliance and Governance: Monitor and facilitate compliance with human rights and ethics policies, conduct audits, and guide managers.
  4. Talent Management: Collaborate with the operational team to manage headcounts, retention, recruitment planning, and onboarding.
  5. Learning and Development: Oversee site learning initiatives, aligning with succession planning, regulatory requirements, and skill development.
  6. Employee Engagement: Spearhead employee engagement strategies, including leading forums, union meetings, and listening groups.
  7. KPIs and Reporting: Provide and monitor up-to-date KPIs on compliance matters.
  8. Change Management: Lead people change projects as necessary.
  9. Interdepartmental Collaboration: Work closely with wider HR teams to deliver comprehensive HR support.
  10. External Partnerships: Cultivate and manage relationships with external partners like occupational health and contractors.
  11. Team Leadership: Lead and develop a team of HR professionals onsite.

Requirements:

  • At least 3 years of experience in a similar HR role within a manufacturing or fast-paced industry, preferably in the food sector.
  • Certified in Employment Law and Regulations, ideally CIPD Level 5 or higher, with a commitment to ongoing professional development.
  • Proven expertise in employment law, with experience in advising on complex ER matters.
  • Strong track record in managing large-scale change projects, including restructuring and term changes.
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office and HR software.
  • Excellent communication, influencing, and leadership skills.
