Job Title: Senior Lawyer

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Lawyer to join our Adult Social Care team. As a Senior Lawyer, you will play a key role in providing legal advice and support to our clients on social care matters.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide detailed and accurate legal advice on the Council's responsibilities under various legislation, including the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005, Health and Social Care Act 2008, and Mental Health Act 1983.
  • Provide legal advice and support across a broad range of areas, including ordinary residence, data protection, and freedom of information, safeguarding, provider failure, section 117 aftercare, and deprivation of liberty cases.
  • Work closely with colleagues to ensure that legal advice is provided in a timely and effective manner.
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in legislation and case law, and provide guidance to colleagues on their implications.

Requirements:

  • Significant experience in providing legal advice on adult social care.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to provide clear and concise legal advice.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and clients.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
