Electrical Technician Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for the assembly of Azenta Life Sciences' Sample Stores, Bio Stores, and related sub-assemblies in our Manchester facility. International travel may be required.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform manufacturing operations, including setup and calibration tasks, and work on production, rework, and testing of parts, components, and subassemblies.
  • Use sophisticated programs to collect and evaluate operating data for on-line adjustments to products, instruments, or equipment.
  • Develop methods and procedures from blueprints, drawings, and diagrams to control or modify the manufacturing process.
  • Conduct Continuous Improvement activities to enhance productivity.
  • Prepare technical reports summarizing findings and recommending solutions to technical problems.
  • Provide guidance to non-exempt personnel and lead or supervise activities within a team lead function.
  • Perform ad-hoc tasks as required by the team.
Requirements:
  • HNC or further education study to City and Guilds level or a recognized apprenticeship.
  • Understanding of electrical systems, wiring diagrams, and electrical fault finding using a multi-meter.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
  • Mechanical assembly of basic mechanical sub-assemblies.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft PC-based software (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
  • Working within a Health & Safety management system.
  • Passport and driving license.
