Electrical Technician Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for the assembly and testing of Azenta Life Sciences' Sample Stores and Bio Stores, as well as related sub-assemblies. This role is based in Manchester and may require international travel.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform assembly and testing tasks associated with manufacturing operations, including working with engineers to set up and calibrate equipment.
  • Use electrical engineering drawings to terminate cables on automated units and perform fault finding using a multi-meter.
  • Assist in developing methods and procedures to control or modify the manufacturing process.
  • Conduct Continuous Improvement activities to improve productivity.
  • Prepare technical reports summarizing findings and recommending solutions to technical problems.
  • Provide guidance to other non-exempt personnel and may lead or supervise activities within a team lead function.
Requirements:
  • HNC or further education study to City and Guilds level or a recognized apprenticeship.
  • Understanding of electrical systems, wiring diagrams, and electrical fault finding using a multi-meter.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
  • Mechanical assembly of basic mechanical sub-assemblies.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft PC-based software (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
  • Working within a Health & Safety management system.
  • Passport and driving license.
